The Vernacular Building, or the Farmhouse, is an outdoor classroom space inspired by Anglo-Saxon construction techniques. The Scots Pine for the framework (and the Douglas Fir for the doors) was felled, milled, cut and installed by Hill Holt Wood and is held together using oak pegs.
Environmental Aspects: Local Timber, Aggregate Foundations, Shingle Roofing, Handcrafted Doors, Engaging a volunteer workforce, reusing excavated earth.
