RIBA STAGES: 1 - 7 CONCEPT DESIGN TO CONSTRUCTION
2017 - Present
Composting toilets are a low-tech alternative to the tradition flushing toilet, and is an excellent option for a low-maintenance toilet as either part of a building, or a standalone unit.
The Oxford Botanical Gardens composting toilets are a high standard eco toilet that were designed and built by the Design:HHW team.
Our signature twin-vault design is a dry system that requires no running water for flushing and can save up to two litres of precious water with every use. This means no need to connect to existing sewage systems, with emptying required every three months at most.
Environmental Aspects: Reducing Water Use, Low-tech construction, self build, off-grid systems, local timber.
